It's presumptuous of me to refer to Joe Dolan as friend, but I got to know him just a little bit after he recorded Over You. This is my tribute to Joe - a real good guy and a great performer.

Goodbye Joe

Goodbye Joe, goodbye old friend
I never thought it would end
Each Stephen’s Day, a prayer I send
To thank you for it all
Sunny days, balmy nights, Satin ties, suits of white
More and more it’s you, it’s you
Wait ‘till the clouds roll by
Goodbye Venice, goodbye
You had style, you had class
You sang them all with strings and brass
Your legacy, built to last, you were forever true
Still today the show goes on
Another stage, another song
Before they bring the curtain down, this one's for you
This one's just for you

Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe

Goodbye Joe, goodbye old friend
For a moment let's pretend
And roll the years back to the time
We were in our prime
Could it be the same again
For you and me, the boys and Ben
Would we feel the magic glow like we did before
Like we did before
You had highs, you had lows, even when you took the blows
You kept smiling, heaven knows, you came smiling through
Still today the show goes on
Another stage, another song
Before they bring the curtain down, this one's for you
This one's just for you

Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe
Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe,  Goodbye Joe
